Urgent Call for Accountability and Change in Leadership at Estates II
Dear Residents of Estates II,
We wish to bring to your attention grave concerns regarding the leadership of our current condominium board president, Alan Rothenberg. It has become increasingly evident that his actions have fallen far short of the standards we expect for transparent and responsible governance.
Mr. Rothenberg has presented a budget fraught with irregularities, including significant waste and potential fraud, without proper consultation or consideration for the residents of Estates II. Essential board members, including Secretary Debbie Resnick and Treasurers Stephani Michel and Stephen Fanuka, were allowed to neglect their responsibilities by skipping the critical budget meeting, leaving residents without answers to pressing questions.
Among the most troubling issues is the unaccounted expenditure of $500,000 on clubhouse renovations. Residents have been left in the dark, given no opportunity to inquire or seek clarity on this substantial investment. Furthermore, Mr. Rothenberg's refusal to acknowledge residents’ requests for a revised budget and an additional budget meeting demonstrates a blatant disregard for our community's needs.
It is alarming to note that Mr. Rothenberg has breached our community bylaws by presenting this budget merely one day before the meeting, in stark violation of the mandated fourteen-day notice period. Additionally, the recent increase in maintenance fees appears to be coupled with questionable financial practices involving the misappropriation of funds from the budget to support social committee events, in the staggering amount of $15,000, further undermining his credibility and role as president. Even more disturbing, when a resident rightfully inquired about the increase in the insurance premium Rothenberg flippantly stated “costs go up.”
Mr. Rothenberg has failed to provide any substantive cost-cutting measures or assurances that he is capable of leading our community effectively. Given these numerous violations and the lack of professional standards demonstrated in his leadership, we firmly believe that he must consider his resignation. Should he choose not to act, we will be compelled to pursue his removal.
We urge all residents to join together in calling for accountability and the change we so desperately need. Our community deserves better.
Alan Rothenberg (pictured above), the new Estates II President was asked if he would agree to OPEN BOARD MEETINGS at “Meet the Candidates Night” held on Aug. 28, 2024.
He publicly answered the question with a “YES”.
Now, nearly two months and two board meetings later, under Alan’s presidency, board meetings are still CLOSED to residents.
Thanks Alan, for being so honest, trustworthy, and transparent and for respecting your fellow neighbors.
Oh, and those two other new board members who were elected this year, Donna Geffner, PhD and David Hoffman, JD, also both publicly said they were in favor of open board meetings.
Many residents may not be familiar with the President and Vice President of Estates II. We would like to introduce Alan Rothenberg and Cindy Davidowitz, who have restricted access to board meetings and denied residents’ ability to review the minutes from those meetings. They are responsible for dismantling the landscaping committee, security committee, and other committees that encouraged resident involvement in Estates II. Additionally, they demand that board members keep information secret from residents. It was a lot more fun in Estates ll before Alan and Cindy moved here.
2024
"The board of managers has provided the residents of Estates ll -in their election news letter-proof that Alan Rothenberg is their preferred candidate and whether he wins the election or not -he will be the next president of Estates ll."
Alan Rothenberg and Cindy Davidowitz did a lot harm to Estates ll when they were on the board together. They made decisions that were anti resident and those decisions created a lot of frustration in the community. Does anyone know any resident who agrees with closed board meetings along with no access to board minutes. There is no reason for a repeat. Say no to Alan & Cindy getting back together on the board.
ESTATES ll ELECTION: REJECT ALAN ROTHENBERG
By denying Alan Rothenberg a seat on the condo board you are fundamentally supporting the restoration of resident's rights.
Alan Rothenberg, in 2019, pushed for closed private board meetings and is responsible for keeping important information from residents.
Alan Rothenberg's resume is missing his second term as vice president of Estates ll from 2020/2021-2023.
Alan Rothenberg is running for a 3rd term while deceptively framing it as a 2nd.
Alan Rothenberg wants it to look like he has been off the board for 4 years when he was only off the board for one year.
Board members have already decided Alan Rothernberg will become the next president of Estates ll.
Alan Rothenberg seeks to return to the board after serving six years in a row, one cannot help but wonder why? Why aren't six years on the board enough?
Estates ll News Letter 2023
Rothenberg went off the board in 2023. In the news letter below Rick Saccullo is thanking Alan Rothenberg for his service.
Alan Rothenberg's Aug. 26, 2024 resume missing his 2nd term as V.P. 2020/21-2023
"When Cindy Davidowitz was president Alan Rothenberg was V.P. and together they did terrible things to Estates ll. They changed everything for the worse. The board meetings became private, when they were always open to residents, before those two came on the board, and the minutes became classified, when they were always left for us in our mailbox. Cindy took the left over pavers from the pool renovation gratis and had the condo put them in her backyard. Labor & materials a gift from Estates ll. These two people should never serve on the board TOGETHER again."
